Activities

Immersion activities will include a receptionwith heavy appetizersin the California Academy of Sciences’ Steinhart Aquariumon Friday and dinner at Delancey Street Foundation’s Town Hall & ClubonSaturday.

This evening we’ll also have the opportunity to hear from some Delancey Street residents. Pre-work for the Immersion will include information onitems we are able to donateto benefit the residents of Delancey Street.

Two Tracks

The Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking Trackwill kick off with MBA@UNC Associate Dean Sridhar Balasubramanian (Dr. B!) leading a session on micro-innovation and customer focus.This will be followed by company visits in the afternoon to some of the most innovative organizations in San Francisco to help learn how companies build and keep their innovative culture as they grow from start-up to national and international giants.Saturday, you will take part in an immersive simulation where you will be working in teams through the innovation process –from ideation to prototype to pitch for investment.Later that day panels of entrepreneurs and investors will talk about what makes a good idea into a great business.Finally, Sunday will focus on disruption and accelerating the curve of innovation, highlighted by a session with Professor Brad Staats.

The Data Analytics and Decision-Making Trackis an opportunity for you to dive into the ways companies are harnessing big data to drive business impact.We’ll kick off this track with a session on Data Visualization done by General Assembly (the same organization who led the Growth Hacking session during the Media Track in New York).UNC Kenan-Flagler Professor Adam Mersereau will follow with a session on data analytics from an operations perspective, a preview of a new MBA@UNC elective heis working on for next year.Saturday morning we will be hearing from companies leading the way in their use of data to drive multiple areas such as pricing, operations and product development.Professor Brad Staats will focus on understanding how big data can be more effectively leveraged in the decision making process in the afternoon of Day 2.Our Sunday sessions will focus on data analytics from a marketing perspective.
